This lovely place run by chef-owner Neal Fraser offers a modern American cuisine with an emphasis on local artisan ingredients. He mixes textures and contrasting flavors in dishes like risotto with pumpkin, sea urchin and sweet shrimp; a hunk of braised pork belly atop purple sticky rice with figs; and wild boar tenderloin in violet mustard sauce. The menu changes regularly, but you might find a roast beet salad with grilled radicchio and onion marmalade, pumpkin risotto with sea urchin and sweet Maine shrimp, and a beautiful plate of foie gras served with pistachio-cocoa nib crust and a dab of huckleberry compote. Upscale interpretations of nostalgic favorites like maple-caramel doughnuts, cookies and milk highlight the irresistible dessert menu. When speaking about desserts, try a sublime warm Cajeta bread pudding topped with pumpkin-seed ice-cream.

Discover the true spirit of California cuisine celebrated in this elegant dining room with a wraparound patio. Chef Quinn Hatfield specializes in market-driven dishes like Arctic char in a leek froth, and date- and mint-crusted rack of lamb following a whimsical, not-to-be-missed California-style croque madame (a delightful play on the typical Parisian sandwich - hamachi and proscuitto sandwiched between buttery brioche toast, topped with a sunny-side-up quail egg). The French-California menu isn't very big but it changes every week, not completely, but enough that frequent diners can find something new and appealing.

Delicious desserts are created by Quinn's wife, Karen, whose culinary masterpieces include chocolate-peanut butter truffle cake and sugar- and spice-dusted beignets paired with a frothy shot of milkshake.
