Aliso Beach

Aliso Beach Photo

Featuring sandy beaches, rocky promontories, and scenic coastal foothills, Aliso Beach Park is one of the most recreationally appealing areas along the entire California coast. Consisting of two sections, the beach itself and an inland area surrounded by native coastal chaparral, Aliso Creek winds its way down from the Laguna foothills and empties into the sea. With marine life refuge bordering to the North and South and rocky outcroppings clearly marking the park boundary, not to mention congenial Southern California climate, Aliso Beach Park is an ideal place to visit.

Southern California is known for its water sports and Aliso is no exception. Swimming, surfing, skin diving and paddle boarding all take place in the waters off Aliso. Fishing is also a popular pastime here. Sunbathing, tide pool exploration and sand castle building are also beach related activities. A tot lot is provided for children. A concession building offers fishing gear rental and sales, food and beverages, as well as beach supplies.

Aliso Beach is a perfect place for a family picnic, with its family picnic area providing barbeque facilities and picnic tables. Located in Laguna Beach, it is fantastic for families seeking room to roam.

What distinguishes Aliso Beach from other Laguna beaches is its easy accessibility. Most of them are either down a set of neighborhood steps, a ramp, or some hard-to-park and hard-to-access location, making them worthy of the most determined and capable beach-goers. But Aliso Beach enjoys a large public parking lot that sits just next to the flat, sandy beach. Restroom facilities offer the needed amenity most beach-goers seek.

And the opportunity to build a bonfire in one of the fire rings is a privilege that nearly was lost. Several years ago the County of Orange, Beaches and Parks division, wanted to shut down the fire rings because of the mess they made.
