Orange County

Fashion Island Newport Beach Picture

If you would ask where to find truly glamorous sun-kissed paradise, the answer would be simple – in Orange County in Southern California. Nowhere else you will be able to find a forever summer kind of place where you would rather keep your surfing and swimming gear handy all the time. Moreover, it is the place where International Surfing Museum is to be found at Huntington Beach, which is considered to be the “Surf City USA”. Where else will you find so many Jags and Hummers gliding along scenic Pacific Coast Highway, where drivers would slow down to gawk at another breathtaking view of the boats sailing along Newport Beach as well as wet-suited surfers and spouting whales off Dana Point.

But that is not all Orange County. Many visitors play to their heart’s content in Orange County theme parks. Disneyland Park in Anaheim will let you lose yourself in fun-filled worlds. Feel the magic of the land of Mickey Mouse, especially at night when it lights up with parades and fireworks. Next door at Disney’s California Adventures soar over California in a simulated hang glider tour or pump the adrenalin when riding The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Don’t miss Knott's Berry Farm in Buena with 160 acres of rides and thrilling attractions for all ages including Camp Snoopy where Peanut characters come to life. Here you can enjoy old-fashioned ghost town, vintage carousel, county fair ambience and twisty funnel cakes.

Laguna Beach Nature

The coastal territory South from Newport Beach and Laguna Beach is so trendy that they have spawned even their own TV shows. This area offers an idyllic setting for a sun-sprinkled weekend of relaxation and indulgence fun. This 11-mile stretch of coastal land between the two cities boasts both rugged windswept cliffs and amazingly beautiful wide sandy beaches. Luxurious hotels offer their guests opulent accommodations with gorgeous ocean views, exquisite dining and world class amenities.

This place offers numerous entertainment and recreation opportunities. For instance, you may rent a beach bike and cruise the boardwalk and the bayfront, watching eclectic homes that line the narrow side streets on your way to the Wedge, a romantic pocket park overlooking the Pacific. Or you may just as well board the ferry at the foot of Main Street and take a ride to tiny Balboa Island to have lunch there at the small restaurant.

Corona Del Mar

If shopping is high in your list, visit Newport Beach, or so called Fashion Island, with nearly 200 fashion boutiques and award-winning restaurants, located in the very heart of the city. You could probably spend endless days exploring Costa Mesa, one of the world’s truly outstanding shopping resort featuring over 270 marquee stores and designer boutiques and a number of celebrity-chef eateries. Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach will demonstrate to the art aficionados the West Coast contemporary art, including performance, pop and video art.

Spreading along Pacific Coast Highway and rimming the Eastern flank of the Newport Channel, is Corona Del Mar, a ritzy bedroom community with elegant stores and upscale restaurants. The prize attraction of Corona Del Mar is the Sherman Library and Gardens, offering lush and well-maintained gardens with profuse orchids, a koi pond and a garden for the visually impaired. The small research library here is home to a wealth of California historical documents and landscape paintings by early California artists.

Newport Beach Palms

There is nothing better than a hike in the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, with stunning Pacific Ocean as your backdrop. The park features California Coastal Sage Scrub, Maritime Chaparral, Oak woodlands, riparian habitats and Barbara’s Lake which is the only natural lake in Orange County. The park also offers a botanical preserve, interpretive hikes and a bird watcher’s paradise.

Known as the Pacific Riviera the Newport Coast community is at the eastern edge of Newport Beach. This prestigious, world-class community features panoramic neighborhoods from the coastal canyons to the Pacific Ocean, with most of the land dedicated to open space or golf courses. Generous preserved open space, beautiful landscapes, picturesque nature trails and coastal splendor molded the character of this city.

Crystal Cove State Park Birds

7-mile stretch of wide sand of Laguna Beach will delight you with unforgettably beautiful sunsets and hidden paths leading down the bluff to the tranquil beaches. Along this vibrant coastline you can dance all night long, sip exotic cocktails and explore many electric shops. Art admirers will be fascinated by the profusion of art galleries. Another hot place is Crystal Cove State Park where the visitors can hike 3,5 miles of perfect beach and explore trails crisscrossing the acres of undeveloped woodland. Funky and eclectic, with warm ocean breeze and azure water, Laguna Beach will have you coming back again and again.

Cultural attractions can be found all over Orange County, from the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa to historic Mission San Juan Capistrano, the Bowers Museum of cultural art in Santa Ana and the artists’ community in Laguna Beach.

Orange County is no doubt considered to be the California Golf coast and the most entertaining golf destination. An enormous range of golf clubs and golf courses offer majestic green carpets with exciting landscaping views. Monarch Beach Golf Links, San Juan Hills Golf Club, Coyote Hills Golf Courses and a lot of others are inviting to relax in the tasteful uncluttered environment.
