Or you may hike through San Monika Mountains, where, on a clear day, you can spot Santa Monika Bay and Palos Verdes Peninsular to the South and the peaks of the San Gabriel Mountains to the East.

Los Angeles contains interesting and diverse geography. From the Pacific Ocean to the Santa Monica Mountains, Los Angeles is not boring. You can enjoy dozens of world class museums, hundreds of sporting events, concerts, plays, conventions, theme parks, shopping, dining and so much more.

For the young, there is Disneyland, beaches, Hollywood stars, L.A. fashion and plenty of things to see and do. For the restless, there is shopping, West Hollywood wild nights at clubs such as the Roxy and Whiskey a Go-Go, and decadent fun at Los Angeles restaurants. From star tours to the stars in the sky at night at the Hollywood Bowl concerts, Los Angeles has got everything you can imagine in the restless city of 3 million people.

For the young and restless, intellectual pursuits include over 300 museums to visit. Spectacular The Getty sits on a hill and is a must see. The architecture alone will wow you. Museums of art include modern art, traditional, gallery showings and ethnic. One special place worth the drive to see is in Long Beach, the Museum of Latin American Art.

If you just want to look at the celebrity hands and feet molds, go to the Hollywood Walk of Fame at Hollywood & Highland. That's where you can also tour the Kodak Theatre, home to the Academy Awards. They give tours there, too. One museum nearby that's really cool is the Max Factor Museum, featuring lots of authentic memorabilia from Hollywood.

If you like the Old West, visit the Autry Museum of Western Heritage. In downtown L.A., there's also a small, but interesting Wells Fargo Museum with a stagecoach, maps, and lots of interesting artifacts. If you like politics, be sure to check out the Reagan Library. Or you can take a Hollywood star tour and drive right past the house in Bel Air where Nancy Reagan continues to live. On that star tour you'll see lots of famous people's houses and even drive by the Beverly Hills Hotel that was on the cover of the Eagles album. You'll see the spot where Hugh Grant was arrested, drive by Dr. Phil's house and even see the sprinklers that come on at the Osbourne's house when people try to walk onto their gated property.

For the beach scene check out Santa Monica, Venice Beach and all the great spots to soak up the rays, work on a tan, read a book or people watch. Los Angeles sells some of the best swim fashions in the U.S. and they sell them all year long, primarily at the beach. That's the place to pick up your surf wear, or buy a custom surfboard shaped by local surfers who take pride in their creations.

When visiting L.A. you may find out that shopping is a favorite attraction and vacation activity. Rodeo Drive is hoping to pave their streets with granite (not gold) one day but for now, you can find gold items inside many stores that line Beverly Hills upscale streets. You will also find Gap and Crate & Barrel, for affordable gifts. The Grove also offers great shopping and there's a multitude of malls selling all kinds of stuff.

Los Angeles is the spot for a hot vacation, which is all about the fun, and that is why it can be called the Number One destination. It is high time to visit the city where dreams do come true, as Los Angeles is the place where anything can and does happen.
